I am... not on Gaia any longer. This looks like nowhere I have ever seen, and I was on the Lunar Whale before... before...

[Pauses, thinking this over. What exactly happened before this?]

Before I got here. Wherever 'here' might be. Perhaps finding out that answer will also tell me why and how I have wings on my back when they were not there before. For now, I should probably find my way out of this forest. That would be best. It's cold out here.

The... Malnosso, I believe someone called them? Is that who you speak of?

The Malnosso are the primary issue, yes. Their experiments are varied, and never enjoyable. You could find your body transformed, your mind twisted, your age taken from you, and any number of other unpleasantness. Then there are the times when people are taken to the Malnosso's labs for more direct experimentation... they usually return in dire need of a healer's services.

Unfortunately, even factoring the Malnosso out of the equation, there are citizens of Luceti itself who seek to cause harm to their fellow captives.

The details are unknown. But many are unable to even stand when they return.

There are three I know of. There may be more, but I've tried my best to stay on top of the situation.

First, a silver-haired man by the name of Kadaj. He wields a blade similar to the ones Edge uses, but his primary weapon is a poison which inflicts a lethal disease called "geostigma".

Second, a demon named Vocal. This one I have faced personally. He possesses incredible endurance, flight capabilities, and great speed and strength. He's not much for subtlety though, you'll know if he's coming.

Lastly, a recent arrival to Luceti, is a being known as Jenova. What Jenova is, I'm not entirely certain, but she claims to have destroyed entire worlds. Most likely it was through champions of her cause, as her primary skill is reported to be mental manipulation.

Which reminds me... once you get yourself settled in, the town clinic is located (insert directions here). Two men named Lute and Kamui are in charge there, and I'm acquainted with both of them. If you intend to put your gifts to their best use, I'd advise offering them your services.
